Fishing at Lake Luna during the Beals Reunion

We took the kids to Lake Luna which is just outside of Alpine. We had a great time. Didn't catch anything but grass (the kids called it sea weed, rocks, and crawdads. But fishing for our kids is cast, reel, and untangle. Repeat- cast, reel, and untangle. I think it frustrates john but that is their idea of fishing. Apparently there are not any marathon swimmer fish in Lake Luna as when the kids reel in, they do it as fast as their little fingers will go. So even if there was a fish out there to be caught. If it isn't the Micheal Phelps of fish then they got no chance. Good times were had by all and I appreciate john's patience during our "fishing" trip.

Harley in the Meadow

A lot of these are Harley because she asks me to take her picture and she poses herself. The other two were off playing and hemi was either in my arms, or with her dad.

She said momma get it while I am sniffing the flower. Okay sweetie start sniffing.
Mom I'll pretend like I am picking one softly.
Now, I am going to hold it like a marry woman. (I am thinking bride)

Now here I am going to kneel down and look at a flower you take my picture. To bad the photographer had a crappy angle and all we see is the top of her head. Sorry Harley you are great at organizing your photos you probably just need to get a more experienced photographer.

Harley and the horses

At the reunion they had horses there. I had great intentions of going horseback riding. The kids were really looking forward to it. Especially Harley. Unfortunately having over 65 people at the reunion and limited amount of time with lots of activities I didn't book us in time so they didn't get to ride them. I think I was more crushed then they were. I really wanted to be able to do that for them. But such is life. Harley spent many hours over there petting the horses and wanted pictures from every angle. These are just a few. She directed me in how she wanted the shots done. She positioned her head in between the posts etc. just to get the perfect shot.

Harley's new hair cut

Harley has been begging to cut her hair. She is very tender headed and it hurts when I do it. Also, after 2 hours it is a snaggles and looks like we havne't combed it in weeks. So today we visited Aunt Cara's salon and she did her hair. She really loves it. It was hard to watch the locks fall to the floor but I am trying to raise them to be individuals and think for themselves and this is what she wanted (within reason of course). After getting over the inital shock it doesn't look to bad. :0)

Breaking into Spencer's Car

Spencer, john's cousin through his keys on his car seat so they wouldn't get lost while camping. Not realizing that once he closed the door his car would automatically lock it for him. REalizing he had not way in, the boys started to problem solve. They pried open the door just enough to get a few sticks down there to try and hit the unlock key. After many failed attempts they "borrowed" some steel wire from the forest service fence and used that. After many unsuccessful attempts and having three twigs, wire, a pry bar they decided let's put the sticks on the inside of the door handle and try and open it. We could see the lock starting to come up but the door was not budging and mocking them the entire time. Finally the door couldn't take it anymore and they thought they popped the lock when in reality they just pried the door open. The car is fine Megan (spencer's wife) just fine. No real damage done. I don't hear that loud creak and pop as the door opens. I am sure after some WD40 it will be like new. needless to say when it was time to cut down the tree~ spencer being the smart fellow he is, moved his car out of the trees path.

Moral of the story: don't buy a car that is smarter then you are.

Surveying the situation..... if we could only hit the unlcock button or get the stick behind the door handle and pull forward.
The weather stripping. It was just torn a little bit. Looks good considering all it went through. Megan (spencer's wife) it looks worse then what really happened (wink wink)

Wood chips and broken pieces of bark that were in his car.

Bingo

My sister, her "friend", and my mom like to play bingo. Here we are. Sorry mom, The one of you was blurry.
Bingo after you have won.......

This is what happens to you after you lose at bingo.....

Hemi loved her chair while camping

Hemi loved sitting in her camping chair and was quite possessive about it. She liked to swing her legs back and forth.

Killing time in the dr.'s office

Harley needed to go in for a checkup before she entered Kindergarten. We had a few minutes so we took a few pictures. I only posted two.

John's Grandma Noble's Cabin

Sorry you have to turn your head. I didn't know how to turn the picture. It would take less time for you to turn your head then for me to figure out how to rotate the picture.

On our way to Hannegan's Meadow, John wanted to show us his Grandma's cabin. It is in Show Low. I have never been there. It was fun to see john remember about good times he had and tell the kids. It is hard to relive something you weren't there for but you could see it in his eyes and hear it through words the fond memeories he had there. He even wanted to pose for the pictures.

Life's been crazy

I feel like such a lame-o for not doing a better job keeping this updated. Since the last post we have moved out to Surprise, Az into a bigger home but more importantly a ward I think my children will love. Not two days after we moved in we headed off for the Beals family reunion in Hannegan's Meadow. We had a great time. My goal is to post some pictures and do a slide show of our summer. We are doing great and everyone is getting excited for the new school year. I am trying to decide what would be best for Heidi; to enroll her in our home school or keep her with me at Sevilla. Tough decisions but I know she will be successful where ever she ends up. Come back soon. I hope to get pictures on before I head back to work. My summer vacation is almost over.
