Pruning Grandma Childers' Lemon Tree

Grandma Childers always has the greatest toys. We decided it was spring break and we needed to declutter the bedrooms. After what we decided what was non essential we headed over to Grandma's to have a garage sale. Well, everyone in the childers' home has ADHD, and couldn't just sit and enjoy the weather. So, we decided the lemon tree needed pruning. I don't know if it will need it for the next few years after the kids got done. However, grandma is the master pruner; and I had fun watching her teach Heidi, Dillinger, and Harley the art of purning.

Yea, she didn't stay long.
Hemi was the supervisor. She grabbed the branches as they fell down. I'm surprised she didn't get concked in the head. It is amazing that we only had a few injuries.
Heidi actually listened and watched as grandma presented her demonstration. The other two are hands on learners. Okay we all just have ADHD.

He likes to prune from inside the tree.

Dillinger got an injury. Not to self, apparently it is not a good idea to prune while in the tree and cutting the branch that is supporting your weight.
I can do it myselef, watch

Harley had a hard time finding the branch. She much rather prune Grandma's fingers. Luckily, no Urgent care runs were needed.

  1. What Gretchen didn't tell about was her and the 3 oldest grandchildren, Heidi Ann, John Dillinger and Harley Rose climbed to the very top of that tree and probably picked over 100 lemons, which I set on my road so the neighbors come by and pick them up. The kids loved picking them and toss them to the ground. The next step of picking them up was B O R I N G. But soon they were all picked up and set out on the road. Anybody need lemons, grapefruit or oranges????????????
