Hemi's 1st Birthday

Planting a garden

The kids and I decided we wanted to try to plant a garden..... again. I haven't been able to produce anything from this yard. The best garden was at my mom's house on 48th ave. But I just can't seem to get anything to grow here. However, we keep trying. it may have something to do with- I forget to water it days at a time.... This year we are going to water everyday. That may be bad too,

Dillinger helping turn the soil.
My two oldest girls are quite the hardworkers. I am so impressed with them. They always stick to it. My son tends to get off task or distracted.

Dillinger tilling the ground which is hard! Hence I don't think it will grow ~ hasn't the past two years I tried. But the prophet said, plant a garden so we did. He didn't say you would reap any rewards. Just plant one.

Harley went with me to get some things to plant. We picked up a couple types of flowers, squash, cucumber, bell pepper, chili peppers, and strawberries.

We went to the park over Spring Break

Over spring break I was looking for fun but cheap things to do so we decided to head to the park. We went up there about 10:00 and believe it or not by 11:00 we had to leave because the slides were already to hot to go down on. Oh the joys of living in Phoenix. We still had a great time. I believe this is Hemi's first time to the park.

Hemi climbed to the highest slide~ by herself.
My 3 silly girls.

Dillinger working the Monkey bars.
Mom, look how high I am.
She loved to swing.

Harley I think you need to graduate to the big swings now.

Luke Days

I took the kids out to Luke Days. I wish we could have stayed longer. However, their mom forgot to put sun screen on them and the baby was starting to burn along with all the other kids. We got to see some pretty cool stuff. Next time, they will be old enough to do the Army Similator which they wanted to but you had to be 13. And we will come a little better prepared. We still had a great time. Dad probably had more knoweldge then mom did, so next time the kids hope their dad can make it.

Watch out bad guys Harley's got control of the guns!
Harley showing her little sister the buttons.
Heidi checking out all the buttons
Hemi loved sitting in the aircraft
Heidi had the machine guns. She asked some amazing questions.
she pushed Dillinger out of the way she wanted it all to herself.
Hemi would not get out of the cockpit. She had way to much fun!

They had bomb like things going off. (The Air Force would be glad I know exactly what I am talking about). Harley thought we were really being bomb and she said she didn't want to go to war. She wanted to go home and swim. It was so cute.

Security check before you entered the air force plane. Ummm, yes please. :0)
They are controlling the radios.
This is mad dog do you read me viper 1.
Viper 1 can you read me.
Dillinger and Harley are piloting the AIR FORCE air plane. It was huge. At least they were working together to blow stuff up.

Pruning Grandma Childers' Lemon Tree

Grandma Childers always has the greatest toys. We decided it was spring break and we needed to declutter the bedrooms. After what we decided what was non essential we headed over to Grandma's to have a garage sale. Well, everyone in the childers' home has ADHD, and couldn't just sit and enjoy the weather. So, we decided the lemon tree needed pruning. I don't know if it will need it for the next few years after the kids got done. However, grandma is the master pruner; and I had fun watching her teach Heidi, Dillinger, and Harley the art of purning.

Yea, she didn't stay long.
Hemi was the supervisor. She grabbed the branches as they fell down. I'm surprised she didn't get concked in the head. It is amazing that we only had a few injuries.
Heidi actually listened and watched as grandma presented her demonstration. The other two are hands on learners. Okay we all just have ADHD.

He likes to prune from inside the tree.

Dillinger got an injury. Not to self, apparently it is not a good idea to prune while in the tree and cutting the branch that is supporting your weight.
I can do it myselef, watch

Harley had a hard time finding the branch. She much rather prune Grandma's fingers. Luckily, no Urgent care runs were needed.
