It all started about 4 months ago. John was told/suggested that he needed to test for Lt. So, he decided let's do this. He would study for hours about 25 hours a week. As the weeks passed I would quiz him on his material. He knew the study guide inside and out. I would start a question and he would finish the question and provide the paragraph answer. Even though he new the material would he do well enough on his written exam. In October he took his written and scored high enough to move on the round two..... the ORAL BOARDS! He then worked with other Lt.'s and talked with everyone he could to prepare information that would be needed for his oral board. After a lot of anticipation, nervousness, and excitment, John got the call that he placed first on the Lt.'s list. This provided so much needed relief but brought on new anxieties. It is a time of economic downturn and people are getting laid off not promoted. However, we held out faith that the list was good for one year and all they needed to do was promote 1 Lt. and it could be him. It was out of his hands now which is good and bad. There was nothing more he could do. He scored high enough to be number ONE! Their were talks of th downsizing and budget crunches. John was a little crushed because he had worked so hard and did all the he could and now it appeared that it may have been in vain. However, we held true and kept hope and faith that they would do a promotion. He got word that they would do it before the holidays, they came and went. Then he got a call that they would be on the 6th (later changed to the 13th) and he would indeed be promoted to a Lt. We are so excited and happy for him and that hard work does pay off. It was a great ceremony and couldn't have happened to a better person~ of course I am not biased at all :0)

We held a small get together with family and co workers to celebrate his success and we are thankful for everyone who helped him get there. Family who supported him and gave encouraging words, friends who helped him by lightening some of his load, co workers for providing study buddies. CONGRATDULATIONS LT. NOBLE~!~!~!
