Spencer, john's cousin through his keys on his car seat so they wouldn't get lost while camping. Not realizing that once he closed the door his car would automatically lock it for him. REalizing he had not way in, the boys started to problem solve. They pried open the door just enough to get a few sticks down there to try and hit the unlock key. After many failed attempts they "borrowed" some steel wire from the forest service fence and used that. After many unsuccessful attempts and having three twigs, wire, a pry bar they decided let's put the sticks on the inside of the door handle and try and open it. We could see the lock starting to come up but the door was not budging and mocking them the entire time. Finally the door couldn't take it anymore and they thought they popped the lock when in reality they just pried the door open. The car is fine Megan (spencer's wife) just fine. No real damage done. I don't hear that loud creak and pop as the door opens. I am sure after some WD40 it will be like new. needless to say when it was time to cut down the tree~ spencer being the smart fellow he is, moved his car out of the trees path.
Moral of the story: don't buy a car that is smarter then you are.

Surveying the situation..... if we could only hit the unlcock button or get the stick behind the door handle and pull forward.

The weather stripping. It was just torn a little bit. Looks good considering all it went through. Megan (spencer's wife) it looks worse then what really happened (wink wink)

Wood chips and broken pieces of bark that were in his car.
